Who We Are

Cambrian Consulting, Inc. is an independent Managing General Agent who provides wholesale distribution of group insurance, stop-loss, reinsurance, and special programs. As such, we provide services for insurers who would otherwise not be available in the Pacific Northwest region.

Our staff has an average of 20+ years in all aspects of insurance underwriting and financial services. Cambrian emphasizes a problem-solving approach to distribution, using innovative product application based on the client's risk tolerance. Through our network, we are in a position to provide multiple company's multiple lines product application assistance at one point of contact.

What We Do

Cambrian helps insurance brokers and employee benefit consultants assess coverage problems for their clients, and assist in matching our carriers' or managing general underwriters' coverage to resolve the problem. The solutions are designed to accomodate the client's risk tolerance and economic objectives in the best possible manner.

Who We Work With

Cambrian Consulting, Inc. maintains an ongoing contractual relationship with a select field of insurance companies and managing general underwriters who can provide competitively priced products and who understand our problem-solving approach to wholesale distribution. We provide services for the following major insurance underwriters:

American United Life Insurance Company offers competitive rates and innovative underwriting for group Life/AD&D, Short and Long Term Disability and Supplemental Life.

HCCB possesses a unique combination of highly trained healthcare underwriters, claim specialists, medical professionals, and actuaries to provide products and services unmatched in the stop-loss industry. HCCB offers its unparalleled resources and the superior capitalization of Avemco Insurance Company to deliver enhanced stop-loss products to their clients.

Starline Group underwrites on behalf of QBE Reinsurance, nationwide and Lloyds. They represent a source of creative stop-loss risk management for medium and larger sized employers. Starline underwrites, provider excess, HMO reinsurance and several special risk products.

Coverage Recipients

Our carriers and managing general underwriters can provide coverage over Third Party Administrators, Insurance Carriers or Blue Cross/Shield plans. They provide coverage for:

Compensation

Cambrian Consulting, Inc. is compensated as a wholesale distributor by the Insurance or Stop-loss Company. All insurance products can include full broker commissions or be written on a net basis.

Our Products

Basic Life/AD&D

Basic life coverage for 10+ lives. Our life carriers have the capability to underwrite unique risks and schedules bundled or unbundled with other coverage. Alternative funding arrangements are available for larger clients.

Supplemental Life

Our Life carriers offer various options of voluntary life products including "no minimum participation" requirement.

Short and Long Term Disability

Our carriers provide a flexible alternative in STD/LTD underwriting. A variety of plan options are available.

Stop-Loss

Our stop-loss carriers offer coverage from 100+ to 1000+ lives. Coverage is provided for private sector employers, government plans and selected associations and union organizations. Traditional specific and aggregate as well as alternate funding options are available.

A NOTE ABOUT STOP-LOSS COVERAGE

The turmoil in the medical stop-loss industry is reflected by non-renewals, lazering and "hard market" price increases. Our primary medical stop-loss carriers are prospering and growing as they provide a "safe haven" for their policyholders with sound underwriting practices and reasonable pricing.
